Training

Up and Over Farm offers a resistance free training program for starting young horses.  Horses are started here, not broken!  It is our  philosophy  that horses can be started by incorporating the horses body language and herd dynamics into a language that the horse can understand.  Allowing communication between trainer and horse to become non threatening and a non violent  method of training.

After the young horse is started, and  accepts riding as an enjoyable experience, show preparation begins. Training is offered for basic horse back riding, dressage, jumping, hunters, eventing, driving.

Students are welcome, bring your horse or use one of our schooling horses.  Students are accepted from beginners up.  Our students are encouraged to learn all parts of horsemanship and many choose to take their horse or schooling horses into local shows to show off their skills. Safety around horses is emphasized at Up and Over Farm.  Helmets are required and students are taught how to behave, handle and ride horses with safety. Some working student positions are available from time to time.
